You will grow and the church will grow because the world is looking for answers. Invite Jesus and the Holy Spirit into your hearts. ![]() So give the church back to Jesus, and invite the Holy Spirit into your services. ![]() Jesus said the Gates of hell would prevail against his church. If there is not, you have death at your church door! When was the last time you took a new member into your church? Now churches will compromise the message of the Bible to fill the seats, and those churches will fail. Look around to see if there are any children or teenagers at your church. I wondered if they ever had achance to go to the altar and pray. There was little to no excitement, but then they fought over the donuts. I did go to churches that seemed to do the same old thing every Sunday: prayer, a Bible verse, songs, collect the offering, a sermon and out the door in 45 minutes. After the service do you feel your heart is so excited about being a Christian that you have to share it with someone? That is what church is about, sharing salvation and how Jesus changes your sinful life to a life with a relationship with Him. Do you want the Pastor to give you a sermon that tickles your ears or your heart? Do you want him to tell you what sin is, or to condone your sin. When was the last time God spoke to you at your church? At these churches I attended, the Pastor would preach a sermon to stimulate Christian growth in our hearts. People would pray around the altars looking for communication or instructions from God. The people who came to church that were hungry for more of God, or the closest walk to Him they could find, had exciting services that were filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Let us be honest, who wants to go to hell? Nobody. I would say for the most part, in every service I attended, most people there wanted to go to Heaven. I did on the other hand go looking for a closer walk with God. I didn’t go to judge them, and I didn’t look at the name on the door. When I was on sabbatical this last year, I tried to visit as many churches as I could, about 27 in total. We are trying to keep the doors open, but we forgot to ask God inside the church and inside of our hearts. You may ask, “How dare you think about closing this place?” It is very easy to figure out. Is this the cry of our churches? Keep the doors open no matter what!! This was my great grandparents’ church.
